Who doesn’t wish they had more time?
Here are my top 5 culprits – and what you can do about them... 1 Trying to do everything yourself. It is impossible. Aim to delegate, particularly the following: Jobs which are routine, require no special skills or are time-consuming, and regular tasks planned in advance. Jobs which someone is keen to take on — delegation can be good training. 2 Failing to brief people properly. Explain the objectives before you explain the task. Encourage ‘ownership’ of the project by whoever is taking it on. Agree support and deadlines. Arrange procedures for monitoring. 3 Aiming for unnecessary perfection. Most customers would rather have a good job, completed on time, than a perfect job, three weeks late 4 Agonising over toss-up decisions. If the balance of arguments is in favour, go ahead. If the balance of arguments is against, do not go ahead. If the balance is even, all the available information has been considered, and there is no alternative, do either. There is an equal chance of being right, and no point wasting time deciding. 5 Chaotic filing systems. Set aside time, on a regular basis, to throw out all general information over one year old, and to make sure files are in order. If any of the above ring true for you, then pick just one action for yourself over this coming week – write it in big bold letters and stick it up somewhere where you will see it. And over this coming week – focus on overcoming just that one Big Culprit. This will make a big difference for you. To your success Rudi
How to get Testimonials…and what to do with them!
Testimonials are an incredibly powerful tool – they often make the sale practically by themselves – but many of us overlook their value. Consider how you use Ebay. Would you buy from a seller who has had a lot of negative feedback? Are you weary of a new seller who has not sold anything on Ebay before? The power lies in the fact that other people have given the seller feedback – and if we notice a lot of positive feedbacks, then that is probably a good sign. We live in a world where there are so many options. And so little time. One of the ways we use to make up our minds is to look for SOCIAL PROOF. If someone else has tried something and say it is okay, then it probably is. And this is where testimonials come in. A powerful testimonial does half the selling for you. When you actually weigh up the effort involved in gaining testimonials with the potential impact of using them it quickly becomes obvious that it is a really worth while use of your time. Testimonials are a quick way to build your credibility and are crucial in a market where customers have endless options available to them. As with any marketing prong the most difficult bit is getting started. To make this as easy as possible for you I have put together a quick start guide which you can find in the ‘Money Challenges’ section of the Tools and Resources page. In this I cover not only the best way to gain testimonials, but also what to then do with them for maximum impact! Testimonials will help pave your way to a successful business. It really is worth the effort. To your success Rudi
